Software Engineer II - Backend - Remote

Overview

Smartsheet is seeking a passionate Software Engineer II to join our Developer Productivity team. This role will directly impact the speed and quality of our software development lifecycle by designing, building, and maintaining test framework, infrastructure, distributed testing solutions, and pipeline automation.

In Short

• Build scalable back-end services for applications at Smartsheet (Kotlin, Java)
• Solve distributed systems problems with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes)
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
• Mentor junior engineers on code quality and best practices
• Collaborate with product management and other business areas
• Use AI tools to improve efficiency in coding, testing, and design

Requirements

• 2+ years software development experience in scalable applications
• 2+ years programming experience with Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript
• 2+ years experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with REST APIs development and documentation
• 6+ months experience leveraging AI for productivity
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
