Overview

We are currently seeking a Business Development Professional for our Business Development (BD) team. This is a field-based position in the US meant to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Biotech Incubators to shape the future of our business through qualification and interactions with startup companies as well as technology surveillance for overall portfolio development.

In Short

  • Drive strategic business development partnerships to improve market positioning and financial growth.
  • Manage relationships with biotech incubators in the territory with regular on-site visits.
  • Conduct opportunity and market analysis focusing on startup companies.
  • Build and maintain a database of early-stage companies.
  • Manage timely interactions with newly onboarded and graduating companies.
  • Promote Sartorius brand visibility within biotech clusters.
  • Evaluate and identify Biotech Incubators for partnership opportunities.
  • Negotiate and execute partnership agreements.
  • Work closely with various Sartorius Business Areas and Units.
  • Scout for new technologies from startup companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Post Graduate degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience in biological drug development or sales and marketing.
  • Experience in the national and/or international biopharmaceutical market.
  • Ability to travel within the territory as needed (50-60%).
  • Work experience in corporate strategy, business development, or Venture Capital is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Sartorius cross-divisional portfolio.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven and self-motivated work ethic.
  • Excellent relationship management and coordination skills.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
