Associate Legal Counsel - Remote

In Short

• Assist in managing litigation and regulatory matters related to unfair competition, marketing, consumer protection and intellectual property laws.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, and legal memoranda.
• Provide legal review of contracts, compliance documents, and other legal agreements with a focus on marketing, consumer protection, and intellectual property laws.
• Advise clients on competition-related issues including advertising, and unfair trade practices, and consumer disputes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business objectives while offering clear, practical legal guidance.
• Monitor and interpret legal developments in competition and consumer protection laws and communicate key updates to legal team and clients/stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients and stakeholders through effective communication and a solution-oriented approach.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in litigation, with a focus on unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, false advertising, privacy and/or intellectual property law.
• A law degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be licensed to practice in one or more US jurisdiction.
• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Experience in litigation, including motion drafting and discovery responses.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Demonstrated interest and understanding of competition, consumer protection, advertising, and/or intellectual property laws and regulations.
• Prior experience with legal technology tools and case management software is a plus.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients clearly.
