Vice President, Construction - Remote

Overview

In Short

• Manage a minimum of two construction teams (8-10 staff typically in each team) focused on specific submarkets.
• Direct reports include Directors of Construction, Team Leads, and Senior Construction Managers.
• Provide vision and leadership to execute REXR’s strategic plan and grow the construction team.
• Collaborate with heads of Development, Design, Estimating/Pre-Construction, and Property Management CAPEX.
• Oversee construction-related matters for the managed submarkets.
• Ensure compliance with project objectives, including budget, performance, timeframe, environmental considerations, quality, scoping / strategy meetings and capital approvals.
• Coordinate construction management initiatives and work with various departments to ensure best practices.
• Oversee contracts and key relationships to develop an industry-leading construction capability.
• Manage financial control and reporting on construction projects.
• Approve architectural/engineering construction drawings concerning budget, scope, and schedule.

Requirements

• Minimum 15+ years of construction project management or related operations and leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree.
• Experience managing and developing a large construction team.
• Experience with industrial building and office interior construction.
• Experience with environmental or sustainability issues.
• Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and project management software.
