Controller - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly driven Controller to support a growing and scaling organization in the IT services industry, overseeing core accounting functions and managing both domestic and offshore team members.

In Short

• Manage and develop accounting staff, including offshore resources.
• Oversee performance, workflow distribution, and process accountability.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
• Build scalable team structures to support company growth.
• Oversee General Ledger (GL) integrity and month-end close process.
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, particularly within project-based environments.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Support financial audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with ERP Systems (Deltek, SAP preferably Unanet).
• Prior experience in leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of services-based accounting models.
• Deep knowledge of GL, AP, AR, billing, and revenue recognition.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong process improvement mindset.
