Controller - Remote

Overview

The Controller will oversee all corporate and project finance, accounting, and financial reporting activities, leading a team of finance professionals to ensure effective financial management and compliance.

• Responsible for oversight of finance operations including accounting, payroll, and budgeting.
• Lead a team of 5-6 finance staff members.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and the Board.
• Manage corporate budget and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
• Conduct audits and maintain internal controls.
• Collaborate with project leaders for financial training and support.
• Oversee project accounting and grants management.
• Negotiate Indirect Cost Rate Agreements (NICRA).
• Ensure effective cash flow management and investment oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial management experience.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting principles and GAAP.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of USG Rules and Regulations.
• Experience with NICRA preparation and negotiation.
• Proficiency in financial management software, preferably Blackbaud NXT.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
