Controller - Remote

Overview

This is a fully remote position, but we prefer candidates located in the Denver, CO area to allow for occasional in-person collaboration with company leadership.

In Short

• Manage the company's accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Improve the monthly close process for timely financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state tax and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and improve financial systems and workflows.
• Support leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Work closely with company leadership as a trusted financial partner.
• Establish best practices for financial operations as the company scales.
• Help build and mentor an accounting team as needed.
• Provide visibility into key financial metrics for decision-making.
• Help guide the company toward GAAP-aligned financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience in a growing company or startup environment preferred.
• Ability to build and improve financial systems and processes.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Experience with multi-state tax compliance.
• Experience in SaaS, hosting, or tech companies.
