Staff Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

We’re seeking a Staff Data Engineer to help lead our Data Engineering practice and take our data architecture into the future, supporting our efforts to modernize our data stack and build our lakehouse.

In Short

• Own and evolve our data platform, tooling, and architecture.
• Lead the delivery of a v2 data architecture via a data lakehouse.
• Build stream and batch data ingestion pipelines.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and BI for new analytics use cases.
• Support existing data engineering systems.
• Mentor and coach other data engineers and backend software engineers.
• 8+ years as a Data Engineer.
• 5+ years of experience writing production grade Python code.
• Familiarity with JVM languages.
• Passionate about data engineering.

Requirements

• Experience with modern data lakes and open table formats.
• Stream processing pipelines experience with Apache Flink/Spark.
• Strong cloud architecture skills in AWS.
• Experience with various database technologies.
• Experience in event-driven distributed systems.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
