Overview

The Director of Sales Development at PlanetScale will lead and build the sales development function, focusing on outbound motion and managing inbound pipeline to drive product-led growth opportunities.

In Short

  • Take on sales led pipeline generation while building the sales development function
  • Build and scale an outstanding sales development team and maintain a constant high quality bar
  • Partner with rev ops to build systems, processes and tooling to maximize opportunity qualification efficiency
  • Drive prospect qualification and set Sales up for productive discovery sessions
  • Partner with sales and marketing on strategies and tactics to generate pipeline in key named accounts
  • Maintain strong reporting, forecast, accountability, and attainment against quota

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing sales development teams with consistent overachievement against quota
  • Experience building a sales development team by recruiting and developing SDRs/BDR managers and ICs
  • High proficiency in leveraging sales tools including Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft or the equivalent
  • Passion and desire to sell a deeply technical product that powers some of the largest cloud workloads
