Energy Storage Engineer II - Remote

Overview

Pivot Energy is seeking an Energy Storage Engineer to join our team and work across disciplines to support the technical evaluation, selection, and development of battery energy storage in Pivot's project pipeline. This role will be instrumental in guiding Pivot Energy’s procurement, partnerships, and project development decisions in the rapidly evolving energy storage landscape.

In Short

• Support design review and analysis for energy storage equipment.
• Evaluate and compare different Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) vendors.
• Establish relationships with BESS equipment providers and OEMs.
• Maintain an internal database of BESS and OEM equipment providers.
• Evaluate vendor proposals for BESS.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on equipment specifications.
• Research and evaluate different energy storage technologies.
• Work with the Project Engineering team on commissioning activities.
• Ensure vendor offerings align with project-specific requirements.
• Provide technical support for PPA negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in energy storage system design.
• Knowledge of battery storage technologies and key performance indicators.
• Experience with Tier 1 LiFP battery products.
• Understanding of BMS and EMS.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
