Manufacturing Engineer – Phantom 3000 Empennage - Remote

Overview

Otto Aviation is developing the world’s first fifth-generation business jet, designed for sustainability through the innovative use of advanced super-laminar aerodynamics and high-precision, net-shaped composites. The Manufacturing Engineer will support the Flight Test Vehicle builds of the Phantom 3000 and prepare for production.

In Short

• Support Flight Test Vehicle builds of the Phantom 3000.
• Prepare for low-rate initial production and full-rate production.
• Contribute to major projects supporting strategic priorities.
• Develop manufacturing processes and tooling for advanced designs.
• Manage suppliers and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform design for manufacturability and producibility analysis.
• Identify and resolve safety and quality hazards.
• Author clear manufacturing work instructions.
• Work through disciplined project management methodologies.
• Collaborate with domestic and international suppliers.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Experience with composite manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience with CATIA 3DX, V5 or V6, and Delmia preferred.
