Senior Engineer, Aeroacoustics - Remote

Overview

Otto Aviation is seeking an energetic acoustics engineer to support the Flight Sciences group with an emphasis on analyzing the acoustics of the aircraft in flight.

In Short

• Conduct Computational Aeroacoustics (CAA) simulations to evaluate noise sources from aircraft components.
• Perform modal and structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Analyze internal cabin noise and external noise emissions across all flight phases.
• Ensure aircraft designs meet FAR Part 36 noise certification standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate acoustic considerations.
• Coordinate with external suppliers for aeroacoustic modeling.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for internal reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years in specific technical discipline.
• Proven experience in aeroacoustics, noise control, or vibration analysis.
• Strong understanding of FAA Part 36 noise certification requirements.
• Proficiency in CFD/CAA tools (e.g., Powerflow).
• Experience with CAD tools (3DX, preferred).
• Transonic aircraft aerodynamics and static aeroelasticity experience.
• Professional communication skills both written and verbal.
