Wing Manufacturing Engineer - Remote

Overview

Otto Aviation is seeking a Wing Manufacturing Engineer to support the Flight Test Vehicle (FTV) builds of the Phantom 3000 in Fort Worth, Texas. The manufacturing engineer will also prepare for low-rate initial production (LRIP) and full rate production (FRP) at the Final Assembly Integration and Test (FAIT) Facility, location TBD.

In Short

• Perform design for manufacturability (DFM), producibility analysis, and manufacturing trade studies.
• Develop a scope of work, resource estimates, and communication cadence for project management.
• Identify, report and resolve potential safety and quality hazards/risks.
• Author clear and concise manufacturing work instructions.
• Work through a disciplined approach in project management.
• Ensure work and deliverables meet objectives through team leadership.
• Share manufacturing technology with teammates and colleagues.
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers.
• Work with domestic and international suppliers, with travel up to 25%.
• Own implementation of assembly tools and equipment.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Experience with composite manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience with CATIA 3DX, V5 or V6, and Delmia preferred.
