Overview

The Benefits Services Representative is responsible for handling incoming telephone inquiries in a call centre environment, providing benefits information, resolving member concerns, and offering navigational support for web and mobile applications.

In Short

  • Handle incoming telephone inquiries regarding group and individual life and health benefits.
  • Assist members with online registration and navigation for web and mobile applications.
  • Educate members about OTIP’s products and services.
  • Resolve member complaints and document outcomes.
  • Process claim adjustment requests and cheque stop-payments.
  • Respond to member email inquiries within specified turnaround times.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through effective support.
  • Draft letters and prepare responses to routine correspondence.
  • Maintain historical records of insurance transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary school diploma.
  • One year of training in insurance-related courses.
  • One year of experience in group health, dental, and travel insurance.
  • One year of experience in a call centre environment.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance contracts and benefits.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
