Engineering Manager - AI Authentication - Remote

Overview

This role is ideal for someone who loves helping people and teams grow—and who enjoys solving complex, meaningful problems (like scaling secure authentication for AI models or designing novel authorization frameworks for GenAI applications). If you're deeply technical and passionate about both AI and security, we want to hear from you.

In Short

• Manage the distributed team responsible for Auth0’s AI Authentication investment.
• Be hands-on with our solutions, sometimes by coding, sometimes by reviewing or participating in architectural decisions.
• Be ultimately responsible for the technical implementation and the resiliency of our Auth for GenAI solutions.
• Hire top talent during phases of expansion.
• Coach and help team members grow.
• Contribute to improving Auth0's product architecture patterns, security controls, and best practices.
• Participate in the assessment and adaptation of engineering processes and best practices.
• Work closely with the team’s stakeholders to prioritize work.
• Provide context to ensure team members can perform specific tasks effectively.
• Manage people activities such as coaching, 1:1s, and performance reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience using AI Agents to better understand the problem space.
• Experience leading highly technical teams and skilled at coaching teammates.
• Ability to focus teams on achieving their goals effectively.
• Technical background to assist the team in evaluating trade-offs during development.
• Enjoy working in an iterative development environment.
• Work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead by example and are an excellent communicator.
• Experience with good engineering practices and testing.
• Designed applications and systems that scale and are resilient to failure.
• Understanding of architectural principles across various platforms.
