Staff Software Engineer - DevEx - Remote

Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer - DevEx, you will be responsible for developing automations, optimizing costs, and improving the developer experience, ensuring that the environment is scalable, resilient, and efficient.

In Short

• Develop automations and infrastructure as code (IaC) with GitOps, AWX, and Terraform.
• Ensure resilience and observability of engineering tools using Prometheus, Grafana, and on-call monitoring.
• Improve developer experience with efficient tools, optimized pipelines, and simplified processes for deployment and monitoring.
• Implement FinOps practices to optimize infrastructure costs, aiming for a 15-30% reduction in AWS costs.
• Standardize the observability stack, ensuring availability of metrics, logs, and traces for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Work with Cloud-Native and DevOps technologies, including Istio, Kong, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define deployment, security, and governance standards.

Requirements

• Solid experience with AWS and Kubernetes, including KEDA and Karpenter.
• Deep knowledge in monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, AlertManager).
• Experience in automation and IaC with Terraform, AWX, and GitOps.
• Knowledge in distributed systems architecture, service mesh, and API security (Istio, Kong, HashiCorp Vault).
• Experience in DevEx and improving tools/processes for development.
• Knowledge in messaging and event-driven architectures (Kafka and RabbitMQ).
• Strong expertise in FinOps focused on cost optimization in AWS.
• Ability to solve complex infrastructure problems, ensuring resilience and high availability.
• Skill to collaborate with teams, promoting technical maturity and best practices.
