Head of Development - Remote

Overview

NEC Software Solutions is seeking a dynamic Head of Development to lead a portfolio of key development streams for the NEC Health business, contributing to the design, development, and support of critical applications for the health sector.

• Lead multiple software development teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of software solutions.
• Collaborate with senior management to align development goals with business objectives.
• Manage both onshore and offshore teams, ensuring effective communication and performance.
• Implement Agile methodologies for software development processes.
• Work closely with product colleagues for capacity planning and roadmap content.
• Ensure compliance with technical and design standards in software development.
• Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Provide accurate development progress reports and manage resource plans.
• Participate in risk mitigation and issue resolution as needed.
• Travel may be required for client engagements and team collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience managing complex software development teams of 50+ developers.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage distributed teams.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and motivate a management team.
• Dynamic approach to software development with a focus on quality.
• Degree or equivalent in a technology or managerial related subject is desirable.
