In Short

• Your main goal will be to make n8n engineers dramatically faster by cutting local build times and feedback loops.
• Deliver fast, incremental builds and hot-reload across our pnpm monorepo.
• Streamline local development setup and experiment docker dev images.
• Build one-command bootstrap flows that work across macOS/Linux.
• Evolve monorepo layout and packages to enforce clear boundaries.
• Optimize Turborepo task dependency graphs and pilot remote caching.
• Own and maintain our Developer Guide and other documentation.
• Keep GitHub Actions in sync with local flows, prune redundant jobs.
• Lead and rally engineers for migration projects and tooling rollouts.
• Partner closely with Engineering Managers to sequence and prioritize work.

Requirements

• Proven monorepo wins in a TypeScript/Node.js/Vue monorepo using pnpm/yarn/npm.
• Build system expertise with incremental builds and pragmatic tooling choices.
• Documentation skills to craft and maintain clear developer docs.
• Comfortable driving adoption through RFCs and enablement sessions.
• Hands-on experience with Turborepo, Nx, or similar build systems.
• Solid GitHub Actions hygiene and caching know-how.
• Familiarity with reproducible environments and containerized dev setups.
• Skilled at Vite/esbuild/tsc optimization or Node profiling.
• Experience optimizing multi-stage dev images and caching strategies.
• Experience working in distributed teams.
