Controller - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on, and detail-oriented Controller to lead and build our accounting and finance function from the ground up. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of our financial operations, reporting, and compliance.

In Short

• Handle day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and internal reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate accounting tools and recommend improvements.
• Act as the company’s sole finance/accounting resource initially.
• Help identify and onboard additional finance support as the business scales.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong command of US GAAP.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and strong work ethic.
