Bridge/Structural Department Manager - Southern California (Hybrid) - Remote

Overview

Michael Baker International is actively seeking a Bridge Department Manager to join our Structural/Bridge practice in Ontario, CA, responsible for managing bridge projects and leading a team of structural engineers.

In Short

• Manage existing bridge projects and operations of the structure group.
• Ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.
• Perform technical oversight and staff development.
• Engage in business development activities and client relationship building.
• Coordinate with related practices such as highway and planning.
• Prepare technical and cost proposals.
• Participate in professional society meetings.
• Provide quality control for bridge projects.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Support business development strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• California P.E. is required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in bridge and transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with Caltrans standards.
• Proficiency with bridge analysis and design software.
• Experience with MicroStation and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplined teams.
• Background in business development and proposal writing.
• Experience managing projects for Caltrans or local agencies preferred.
