In Short

• Lead MagicSchool’s SOC 2 readiness and audits.
• Maintain compliance with FERPA and COPPA.
• Partner within Agile teams to embed compliance principles.
• Work closely with engineering teams on security and compliance.
• Research and oversee compliance with global data protection laws.
• Build and maintain risk frameworks.
• Create and manage policies on data handling and access controls.
• Educate non-technical teams on compliance responsibilities.
• Deliver compliance training programs.
• Track compliance KPIs and prepare audit reports.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in risk, compliance, or information security roles.
• Proven success leading SOC 2 or equivalent audits.
• Strong working knowledge of FERPA, COPPA, and data protection frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate with technical teams.
• Experience managing compliance programs across cloud infrastructure.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPM, CISA, or CISSP preferred.
