Director, International Legal - Remote

Overview

The Director, International Legal will be responsible for all legal matters arising out of the international territories assigned to this role. This role will work in conjunction with the VP, Head of International Legal and the internal counsels in the international legal team and at the US headquarters, as well as outside counsels to advise executives on cybersecurity and data privacy laws, labor and employment matters, corporate laws, and compliance issues.

In Short

• Draft, review, analyze and negotiate various contract documents, including master services agreements, data protection agreements, statements of work, purchase orders, license agreements, reseller agreements, NDAs, RFPs, etc.
• Manage, participate in, and resolve general legal matters affecting the company’s international operations.
• Research legal issues and prepare memorandums to explain any risks/liabilities that could impact the company.
• Provide advice and interpretation of contract requirements, obligations, and risk exposure to management.
• Verify compliance with corporate guidelines and summarize risks for management review and approval.
• Assist with global expansion and integration of acquisitions.
• Advise on intellectual property matters.
• Interpret and apply U.S. and foreign laws to business operations.
• Work with outside legal counsels.
• Offer counsel on a variety of complex legal issues.
• Implement strategies to avoid litigation and mitigate potential risks.
• Advise and provide support to the tax and finance departments for routine filings.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of global compliance programs.
• Conduct audits to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with required corporate filings.
• Stay informed on relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Must have completed a doctorate or masters of law (or equivalent degrees).
• Minimum 7 years of experience practicing law.
• Minimum 7 years of experience drafting and reviewing legal documents in English.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with UK Public Procurement laws.
• Minimum 7 years of experience negotiating commercial contracts.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with data privacy, including GDPR.
• Experience working in-house.
• Knowledge in data privacy/cybersecurity.
• Experience with compliance programs.
• Licensed Attorney/barrister or solicitor.
• Excellent verbal and written command in English.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
