Vice President, State and Local Advocacy - Remote

Overview

The Vice President, State and Local Advocacy will be responsible for advancing KIND's mission and goals at local, state, and regional levels, focusing on the integration and inclusion of newcomer children and advocating for their rights.

In Short

• Lead advocacy efforts at local, state, and regional levels.
• Develop strategies for public policy agendas.
• Provide oversight of policy analysis and development.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Represent KIND at external events and forums.
• Identify funding opportunities for KIND's initiatives.
• Supervise the Policy and Advocacy team.
• Collaborate on U.S. federal policy alignment.
• Advocate for systemic reforms to support unaccompanied children.
• Communicate KIND's mission effectively to diverse audiences.

Requirements

• J.D. and admitted to a state bar in good standing.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills preferred.
• 10+ years of senior-level advocacy experience.
• 5+ years of experience with immigration law.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in remote work environments preferred.
• Ability to travel as required.
