Capital B is a pioneering nonprofit news organization dedicated to serving Black communities across the United States. Co-founded by industry leaders Lauren Williams and Akoto Ofori-Atta, Capital B has established three award-winning newsrooms, including local operations in Atlanta, GA, and Gary, IN. The organization is committed to expanding its reach and impact by identifying new markets and forming community partnerships, while also securing philanthropic funding to create sustainable local newsrooms. With a focus on strategic growth and community engagement, Capital B aims to address information gaps and enhance the representation of Black voices in the media landscape.
