Commercial Counsel - Remote

Overview

Karbon is seeking an experienced, commercially minded legal partner to join as our first dedicated Commercial Counsel. This part-time role involves leading commercial negotiations and supporting global partnerships to help scale our legal and operational frameworks.

In Short

• Part-time role (approximately 3 days per week)
• Draft and manage a wide range of commercial agreements
• Lead and support commercial negotiations across teams
• Provide legal advice on product launches
• Collaborate with executives to build scalable legal processes
• Support due diligence and compliance work
• Act as a trusted legal advisor to the Executive Leadership Team
• Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
• Maintain and evolve internal legal resources
• Utilize AI tools to streamline legal workflows

Requirements

• 6–8 years of legal experience, ideally in-house at a SaaS company
• Strong experience with commercial contracts
• Understanding of corporate and transactional matters
• Experience with SaaS, data protection, or privacy is beneficial
• Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communicator who collaborates well with stakeholders
• Practical and proactive in decision-making
• Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
