Lead Software Engineer - Remote

Overview

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Technical Lead who thrives at the intersection of architecture, hands-on development, and technical leadership. This is a highly impactful role where you’ll guide critical technical initiatives from idea to production, shaping the future of human interaction software used by enterprise customers around the world.

In Short

• Lead the design and development of key HireVue platform capabilities.
• Architect scalable, resilient solutions for our enterprise-level chatbot and communication systems.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code and contribute meaningfully across the codebase.
• Own complex system and integration challenges and drive them to resolution.
• Continuously evaluate technical decisions through the lens of ROI and long-term sustainability.
• Identify and prioritize technical debt reduction opportunities.
• Ensure strong automated testing practices across the test pyramid.
• Share knowledge across teams through documentation, mentorship, and technical presentations.
• Partner closely with Product and UX to design solutions that deliver measurable business value and exceptional user experiences.
• Guide and mentor engineers, delegating effectively and enabling team success.

Requirements

• 8+ years building software (12+ preferred), including time spent leading technical initiatives.
• Cloud architecture expertise in AWS (EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, Lambda, Fargate).
• Comfortable across Node.js, TypeScript, React, REST APIs, and backend frameworks like Python/Django or .NET/C#.
• Experience with distributed systems, Docker, and CI/CD best practices.
• Strong grasp of relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, DynamoDB).
• Experience working with ML systems and services like Amazon SageMaker.
• Understanding of web and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to partner effectively with Product, UX, and globally distributed teams.
• A degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and AWS certifications.
