Underwriter - Remote

Overview

Gravie is seeking a technically skilled Underwriter to support the evaluation and pricing of our Comfort health plan and other proprietary, level-funded health insurance products. This role is central to Gravie’s pricing integrity, profitability, and long-term growth strategy.

In Short

• Independently underwrite new business and renewals.
• Use Gravie’s proprietary underwriting engine for pricing proposals.
• Assess group-level risk using claims data and demographic analysis.
• Collaborate with Sales and Account Management on pricing strategies.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and internal controls.
• Participate in training to enhance underwriting knowledge.
• Communicate rates and recommendations effectively.
• Manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Foster a tech-forward environment in underwriting practices.
• Contribute to product positioning and plan design refinement.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of underwriting experience.
• Experience with stop loss and/or level-funded health plans.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Confident communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage deadlines and priorities.
