In Short

• Underwrite short-term real estate investment loans by analyzing property-level data, borrower profiles, and investment strategies.
• Collaborate closely with your loan pod to deliver an exceptional member experience while continuously improving our operations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in Backflip’s credit policy and underwriting guidelines.
• Review and approve title-related documents such as Title Commitments, Tax Certificates, and HOA documentation.
• Evaluate entity documentation to verify good standing and ensure proper structure for real estate transactions.
• Review borrower financials to assess risk and compliance.
• Approve insurance documentation to ensure adequate protection and compliance with lending requirements.
• Reviewing and signing off on executed closing documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform loan file reviews across multiple stages while consistently meeting or exceeding service level expectations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, including short-term bridge loans or construction loans for LLC/corporate borrowers.
• Knowledge of title commitments, asset verification, credit and insurance documentation.
• Have a passion for working in a small, collaborative team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential real estate investing or financial technology is a plus.
• Excellent multi-tasking, time management, prioritization, attention to detail, and computer skills.
• Self-motivated, coachable, collaborative, detail-oriented.
• High integrity, dependable, accountable, humble, and respectful.
• Comfortable in a small, relatively unstructured office environment.
• Basic investment knowledge with math proficiency.
