Overview

The Benefits Consultant is responsible for retaining clients and managing their benefit strategies, ensuring they receive the best services and solutions for their insurance needs.

In Short

  • Develops sophisticated benefit design and renewal strategies.
  • Works closely with account management on pre-renewal strategies.
  • Maintains accountability for revenue and profitability for client accounts.
  • Monitors project success in terms of scope, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Oversees onboarding of new clients with implementation plans.
  • Grows client book through cross-selling opportunities.
  • Establishes effective relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Remains knowledgeable about compliance issues impacting health plans.
  • Attends carrier events to stay updated on plans and changes.
  • Ensures accuracy of client data in CRM.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of benefits consulting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid life and health insurance license required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with databases.
  • Knowledgeable on Health Care Reform and insurance products.
  • Ability to influence C-suite members.
  • Ability to manage one's workload effectively.
