Overview

The Benefits Consultant is responsible for retaining clients and overseeing strategies, financial analysis, and service delivery in employee benefits.

In Short

  • Develop sophisticated benefit designs and renewal strategies.
  • Collaborate with account management on pre-renewal and post-renewal strategies.
  • Communicate timelines and updates to client service teams.
  • Accountable for revenue and profitability of client accounts.
  • Monitor project success in scope, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Onboard new clients with implementation plans.
  • Grow client accounts through cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Stay updated on insurance markets and compliance issues.
  • Ensure accuracy of client data in CRM.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of benefits consulting experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in a broker agency or benefit administration firm.
  • Familiarity with employee benefits and group insurance products.
  • Active life and health insurance license required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
