Overview

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and open-minded DevOps Engineer for our client in the logistics sector in Bern.

In Short

  • Analyze problem statements
  • Handle disturbances and errors in the technical environment
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements (availability, security, performance)
  • Develop, implement, and maintain software applications, components, modules, or interfaces to databases and other applications
  • Automate processes for generating builds and releases, as well as for conducting interface tests, regression tests, and software deliveries (Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Build Pipeline, Code management, etc.)
  • Create and maintain documentation (models, interface descriptions, test procedures, user manuals, etc.)
  • Analyze application disturbances and errors
  • Provide workarounds in case of application disturbances and errors
  • Resolve application disturbances and errors
  • Receive, plan, implement, and complete incidents
  • Coordinate all activities to monitor the availability, recoverability (continuity), performance, and resource consumption of applications

Requirements

  • Completed training in computer science or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Experience in analyzing, resolving, and documenting technical disturbances and error states
  • Knowledge in software development, automation (CI/CD), and code management
  • Proficient in Red Hat Linux, Podman, Ansible Tower, Java, Kubernetes, Bitbucket/GitHub, Scripting
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Grafana, Splunk, OpsGenie)
  • Knowledge in certificate management, DevOps practices, and agile methods
  • LPIC I required, LPIC II is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate IT processes
  • Very good German language skills are mandatory, English skills are an advantage
