Overview

This role involves providing basic patient care and technical support activities under the supervision of a registered nurse in an ICU/CCU setting.

In Short

  • Perform basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN.
  • Monitor patient status and report any changes to nursing staff.
  • Assist patients with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in patient rooms.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Complete EKG and phlebotomy competencies within six months of hire.
  • Work effectively in a stressful environment.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Be accountable and adhere to safety standards.

Requirements

  • No degree required, but patient care experience is preferred.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross is required.
  • Three months of patient care experience or completion of a formal training program.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to patient care.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient and family-centered care.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
