Director of Engineering - Core Foundations - Remote

Overview

We’re hiring for a Director of Engineering focused on our Foundation team, reporting to the Senior Director of Core Application Development. The Foundations team comprises three teams, including Data Layer, Identity, and Distributed Systems. These three teams create the underpinnings on which our other teams build upon and are instrumental in driving the success of Camunda.

In Short

• Drive the overall strategic direction of the Foundations group in collaboration with Design and Product Management
• Engage with architectural decisions and ensure we target high standards for code quality, security, and scalability
• Help the engineering managers reporting to you develop their careers
• Champion sustainable incident response blameless retrospectives, taking a holistic approach to problem solving during production events
• Navigate occasional customer requests or escalations

Requirements

• Ability and/or willingness to use our product
• You must have been a manager of managers previously
• Deep experience with one or more of data, distributed systems, IAM
• Ability to engage in technical conversations related to the product. It’s fine if you’re not coding, but you must be able to engage meaningfully with the team.
