Ballotpedia seeks a full-time, 100% remote Director of External Relations to lead its External Relations department.

In Short

• Lead the External Relations department to build and grow donor relationships.
• Drive strategy and manage donor relations personnel.
• Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and implement a strategic revenue plan.
• Manage a portfolio of major donors and oversee cultivation plans.
• Represent Ballotpedia at conferences and trade shows.
• Evaluate and refine department systems for efficiency.
• Prepare and present performance reports to stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with donors and partners.
• Work remotely with a flexible schedule.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in donor relations and fundraising.
• 2+ years of team management experience.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with donor CRMs, preferably Salesforce.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with 7-Figure Fundraising methods.
• Strong analytical mindset for strategic decisions.
• Availability to travel as needed (approximately 20-25%).
