Editorial Spring 2026 Internship Program - Remote

Overview

This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about American politics, improve research and analytical skills, and work collaboratively with experienced staff at Ballotpedia.

In Short

• Paid internship program running from January 12, 2026, to May 1, 2026.
• Work approximately 10-20 hours per week.
• Interns will learn to code the Ballotpedia website and prevent bias in resources.
• Join Editorial teams to research elections, candidates, and policy topics.
• Assist in creating original articles and tracking legislation.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions with experienced staff.
• Process candidate surveys and volunteer applications.
• Interns will work remotely with a well-functioning computer and Internet access.
• Compensation is $15.00 per hour, adjusted for local minimum wage.
• Applications must include a résumé, cover letter, and writing sample.

Requirements

• Interest in editorial work and American politics.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with Google Applications is helpful.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Must provide a neutral writing sample.
