Spring 2026 Legal Externship – International Program - Remote

Overview

Earthjustice’s International Program is accepting applications for one part-time legal extern for spring 2026. We are seeking law students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment, and who are eligible to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement through this externship. The successful candidate may work from the San Francisco, CA office, remotely within the U.S., or on a hybrid schedule from one of Earthjustice’s offices.

In Short

• Part-time legal externship for law students
• Focus on environmental and energy law
• Conduct legal research on various laws and policies
• Draft memorandums and public communications
• Work under the supervision of a licensed attorney
• Commitment of at least 10 hours per week

Requirements

• Enrolled in law school as a 2L, 3L, or LLM during fall 2025
• Eligible for academic credit or graduation requirement
• Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
• Strong work ethic and initiative
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge of environmental or international law is a plus
