We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Lead – Remote with expertise in scalable SaaS applications to join our Content Sourcing team at Avalara. This role is ideal for an experienced technical leader who enjoys solving complex challenges in tax compliance automation.

In Short

Build Scalable Applications: Work with your team to design, scalable, and reliable full stack applications that integrate across Avalara's ecosystem.
Architect with a Vision: Take our requirements and translate them into software designs and technical documentation.
Hands-on Development & Collaboration: Write clean, maintainable code across the full stack (front-end, back-end, and databases).
Guide Innovation & Ownership: Take ownership of main areas of the platform, exploring new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.
Balance Automation & Human Effort: Build efficient process automation solutions while understanding the limitations of technology.
Mentor & Lead by Example: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing to engineers on the team.

Requirements

Frontend: Experience developing applications using React.js and Javascript.
Backend: Proficiency in .NET (C#), Java, or Python, with experience in developing microservices, REST APIs, and web services.
Database Expertise: Knowledge of PostgreSQL or MS SQL as a primary RDBMS for transactional data.
Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
CI/CD & Infrastructure: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
AI: Seeking a tech lead with an AI-first mindset and hands-on experience integrating AI technologies.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in building enterprise software products.
Professional Experience: 10+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
