Senior Java Developer - Remote

Overview

ASSYST is seeking a Senior level Java EE Developer for our client in Austin, TX to contribute to the design, development and deployment of enterprise-grade applications using Java EE technologies, while aligning with client's goals of modularity, security and interoperability.

In Short

• Analyze legacy Java EE components, including EJB, JPA and SOAP services.
• Participate in application rationalization and transformation planning.
• Support technical walkthroughs and documentation activities.
• Collaborate with architects and business analysts.
• Assist in migrating legacy systems to cloud-native platforms.
• Utilize AI code analysis tools.
• Extract and document detailed business requirements.
• Work with stakeholders to validate requirements.
• Identify and record technical debt and design patterns.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience in Java and Java EE development.
• Proficiency in Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8.
• Experience with object-relational mapping.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience with AI code analysis tools.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
• Exposure to cloud-native transformation strategies.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of software design principles.
