Overview

A growing supplier of plumbing and heating products is seeking a self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to service customers throughout the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts region. This is a relationship-focused, field-based role ideal for a confident communicator who thrives on building rapport and driving results within the construction and mechanical trades.

In Short

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the plumbing and heating sectors.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, distributors, and other trade professionals.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for clients, ensuring they receive accurate product information, quotes, and timely service.
  • Present and promote high-quality plumbing and heating solutions from leading manufacturers.
  • Educate clients on product features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Monitor regional trends and competitor activity to uncover new business potential.
  • Report key customer insights and sales activity through internal CRM systems.
  • Handle product and service inquiries, delivery coordination, and technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with distribution partners to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to fine-tune strategies and improve customer experiences.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in outside sales, ideally within plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or construction trades.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating systems preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Self-starter with a goal-driven mindset and a high level of accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Must be comfortable traveling locally to manage territory.
