Overview

Aerospike is looking for a technically strong sales engineer to assist with selling of our real-time data platform products and services. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of the products' parts, functions, and processes and assisting in closing sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the client's needs.

In Short

  • Prepare and develop technical presentations to explain products or services to customers.
  • Discuss equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Generate high-quality sales leads and secure and renew orders.
  • Research and modify products to meet customers' technical requirements.
  • Help customers with problems and recommend best practices.
  • Solicit and log client feedback to create new sales strategies.
  • Set and achieve sales goals and quotas.
  • Train other sales team members on technical aspects of products.

Requirements

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills directed toward C-Level and Developers.
  • Linux experience is a must.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL, Relational, Distributed, MPP databases.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, HBase, HDFS, Hive, Impala.
  • Independent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of mission-critical applications.
  • Ability to provide feedback to product management and engineering.
