Overview

The Associate Dean will function as part of a leadership team at Walden University, dedicated to high academic standards and helping students make a difference in their professions, organizations, and communities.

• Full-time academic administrator role.
• Maintains quality and integrity of the program curriculum.
• Engages in faculty recruitment, orientation, development, mentoring, and evaluation.
• Provides leadership for continuous program improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with other departments for consistency of outcomes.
• Engages in programmatic accreditation and assessment activities.
• Participates in committee service and evaluating academic programs.
• Develops a community of care among faculty and students.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Communicates effectively with leadership, faculty, staff, and students.

Requirements

• DNP or PhD in Nursing or closely related field required.
• Active, unencumbered RN license in good standing.
• Five years of leadership experience at the degree level required.
• Three years of doctoral-level teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with nursing curriculum development and assessment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with DNP scholarly projects and PhD dissertation committees.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to advocating for student learning needs.
• Experience in faculty/staff development and evaluation.
