Principal Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Principal Engineer at 8th Light, you will leverage your extensive experience to guide clients through complex technical challenges while delivering high-quality software solutions.

In Short

• Work with a variety of clients, typically one to two per year.
• Guide technical direction and solve complex problems.
• Collaborate on systems involving the full ML lifecycle.
• Drive innovation by surfacing new technical approaches.
• Lead modernization efforts for legacy systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience with AI/ML features integration.
• Strong consulting acumen and product thinking.
• Ability to balance technical considerations with user needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with automated testing strategies.
• Leadership in scalable system design and architecture.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proven track record of mentoring and coaching teams.
