Team Lead Backend - Remote

Overview

We’re looking for a Team Lead Backend (f/m/d) to join us as soon as possible – at our headquarters in Munich, or in Berlin or Halle (Saale) in a hybrid setup. As our Team Lead Backend, you’ll take full responsibility for the technical leadership and continuous development of our platform. Your mission: to drive innovation, lead and grow your team, and build a robust, scalable software architecture that’s ready for the future.

In Short

• Lead a cross-functional backend team, coach team members, and support their ongoing development.
• Own and scale our in-house developed platform with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to contribute architectural decisions.
• Write clean, well-documented, and tested code using modern technologies like PHP, Symfony, and MySQL.
• Foster an open and constructive team culture through collaboration and mentoring.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a similar field with strong experience in building complex web applications.
• Proven leadership experience in managing a team of developers.
• Ability to design scalable, high-performing systems.
• Proficiency in modern dev environments: Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Jira.
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus.
