Team Lead - Backend - Remote

We’re on a mission to make vanlife simple, flexible, and inspiring. We help our customers discover and book the perfect places to stay with their camper vans. We are looking for a Team Lead - Backend to drive our systems' evolution and ensure engineering best practices.

In Short

• Lead the backend team technically and organizationally.
• Act as the main technical counterpart for the Product Owner.
• Drive refactoring and decoupling of systems for scalability.
• Develop integrations with external systems and design APIs.
• Ensure code quality, automated testing, and documentation.
• Guide architectural decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in PHP backend development with Symfony.
• Architectural skills and experience leading complex backend projects.
• Comfortable working in existing codebases with a quality-first mindset.
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases (e.g. MySQL).
• Experience mentoring developers.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to drive initiatives.
• Fluency in English and a collaborative approach.
