Director of Media Relations - Remote

Overview

The Director of Media Relations is responsible for representing and coordinating World Relief’s presence in earned media, developing and executing a strategy to maximize positive media exposure for World Relief and the crises at the center of its mission.

• Develop a media strategy to amplify refugee issues.
• Ensure World Relief is viewed as an expert on global displacement.
• Train staff to respond to media inquiries strategically.
• Lead development on reports establishing thought leadership.
• Coordinate with government relations for advocacy support.
• Respond to media inquiries on behalf of the organization.
• Prepare and distribute press releases and Op-Eds.
• Track press hits and assess brand risk.
• Assist in storytelling for fundraising and program support.
• Collaborate with the Marketing/Content team for integrated storytelling.

Requirements

• Personal Christian faith and commitment to World Relief’s mission.
• At least 5 years’ experience in public relations or journalism.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented and mission-minded.
