ESL Specialist Instructor (Limited Term) - Remote

Overview

The ESL Specialist Instructor at World Relief Sacramento will help preliterate refugee women learn English, fostering self-sufficiency through a supportive and trauma-informed teaching environment.

In Short

• Teach basic English, numeracy, and literacy to refugee women.
• Co-teach alongside another ESL Specialist Instructor.
• Utilize Zoom for instruction and manage breakout rooms.
• Support volunteers in teaching and material preparation.
• Assist with client recruitment, enrollment, and assessment.
• Maintain accurate program records and client files.
• Train clients on digital platforms and basic tech skills.
• Work 32 hours per week, primarily on-site on specified days.
• Position is limited-term from December 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026.
• Possible extension based on funding availability.

Requirements

• Strong Christian faith and commitment to World Relief's mission.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, or related field.
• Prior teaching experience in ESL or literacy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and WhatsApp.
• Valid US Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
