In Short

• Join the Data team at Whatnot to improve core product experience.
• Define technical direction and lead development of the retrieval platform.
• Drive innovation and ensure scalability and performance of systems.
• Make key decisions about data systems integration.
• Align efforts to optimize company architecture.
• 3+ years of experience required.
• Ability to write well-tested, API-driven applications.
• Expertise in cloud data stores and streaming data systems.
• Experience managing cloud technologies and infrastructure-as-code.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Ability to build scalable and performant distributed systems.
• Expertise in managing cloud data stores (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience with streaming data systems (Kafka, Flink, Pulsar).
• Strong experience in operational systems support.
• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in server-side programming (preferably Python).
• Self-starter ethic and high level of autonomy.
• Exceptional communication skills.
