Senior Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

Vantage is growing again and we are looking for Sr Data Engineer to join our team. We are a fully remote team, but are primarily based in southern Ontario, and get together in person at least once a month for planning, team building and group work. We foster a positive team environment focused on collaboration and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

In Short

• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data warehouses.
• Handle real-time and batch processing at scale.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and product teams.
• Implement monitoring, validation, and security controls for data reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, big data, or distributed systems.
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL (or equivalent big data processing frameworks).
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow or similar tools.
• Experience with real-time streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub).
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with privacy-compliant data processing (GDPR, CCPA).
• Bonus: Experience with data lakes, ML pipelines, or advertising technology.
