Assistant Controller - Remote

Overview

As our Assistant Controller, you’ll be responsible for the integrity of financial statements and reporting, compliance with tax and audit standards, treasury and cashflow management.

In Short

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including owning the month-end workbook and establishing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• Review and approve payroll, provide variance analysis, own treasury function.
• Serve as go to contact for Corporate tax, Sales tax and Audit engagements ensuring compliance with all authorities.
• Work closely with the Director of Finance on global expansion and operational initiatives.
• Redesign and oversee AR, AP and Treasury processes for automated streamlined workflows.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Develop a team with a culture of high performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, 2+ years of management experience.
• Familiarity with tools like QBO, Brex, Plooto, Intacct, Netsuite is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• CPA or similar certification is a plus (Canada).
• Experience in Multi-Entity, Multi Currency Environment.
• Experience in Audit and Tax Engagements.
