Upwork is seeking a strategic, customer-obsessed Senior Director of Marketplace Experience Marketing to lead teams responsible for our product marketing touchpoints across our self-serve marketplace.

In Short

• Lead the creation and execution of an integrated GTM and lifecycle strategy.
• Own marketing strategy and execution across onboarding and lifecycle campaigns.
• Define the calendar of messaging moments for customer engagement.
• Translate high-level goals into executional roadmaps.
• Define and track KPIs to improve funnel health.
• Drive holistic improvements to our product based on customer feedback.
• Support GTM storytelling in exec-level forums.
• 15+ years of experience in lifecycle or product marketing.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire teams.
• Passion for shaping customer experiences on the platform.

Requirements

• Experience in lifecycle, growth, or product marketing.
• Proven success in product adoption and retention strategies.
• Deep understanding of customer journey design.
• Data fluency and ability to interpret KPIs.
• Experience with operational planning and GTM strategy.
• Excellent executive communication skills.
• Familiarity with Martech tools and growth KPIs.
• Ability to build and inspire multi-disciplinary teams.
